Available both in black and silver finish, Leica pushes the limits of rangefinder photography with the contemporary Leica M camera. Its 24-megapixel, full-frame Leica Max CMOS image sensor coupled to the Leica Maestro image processor, will deliver superior low-light images (ISO 200 to 6400 and expandable to 100) and 1080p full-HD videos with 24/25p frame rate.
With all the obvious benefits of CMOS technology, I am most excited by Leica’s commitment to maintaining the signature look pioneered by the CCD-outfitted M8 and M9 cameras. This M features Live View both with the 3-inch, 920k-dot LCD screen (protected by tough, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass) and with the optional, tilting (to 90º) 1,400k-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF2). Focus Peaking is incorporated to insure precise focusing, and sharp areas are made clearly visible by red lines that intensify as critical sharpness is attained.
